Grassroots Grant Program

The Warren County Arts Council (WCAC) is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a state-wide organization funded by the North Carolina General Assembly which provides grant funds to regional and countywide arts councils across the state in the form of the Grassroots Grant Program.

Here is some information about the Grassroots Grant Program from the North Carolina Arts Council website:

β€œThe Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) provides per capita-based funding for arts programming to all 100 counties across North Carolina ensuring opportunities for citizens to experience the arts in their own communities. Activities include festivals, concerts, dance and theater productions, artist-in-schools programs, galleries, Native American powwows, art classes and African drumming circles.”

The WCAC solicits applications for grants that can be applied for by nonprofit organizations, artists, local and county governments, religious groups, and other interested parties to fund arts projects across Warren County. In 2018, the Warren County Arts Council subgranted $9,000 to seven organizations that will be completed by June of 2019. In 2017, we subgranted $10,000 to eight organizations. In 2018, we subgranted $9,000 to five organizations.
